English Present Continuous Tense

 

In English, we use the present continuous tense tense when:

In English the present continuous tense is used in the following situations:

1.  In English, the present continuous is used in situations that are temporary, the length of time is not important.

Example:

  1. I am studying for my English test.
  2. Mary is living in England while going to college.
  3. Tammy is studying for her final exams.

2.  In English, the present continuous is used when actions are going to happen in the near future.

Example:

3. In English, the present continuous is used when actions repeat themselves. It is possible to use words like "all the time" and " always", to clarify that the action repeats itself.

Example:

In English, the present continuous verb tense (“going to”) is used for the future when an action is preplanned, or planned at the time of speaking. To use the present continuous verb tenses a future word/s must be used to make be used such as tomorrow, later, next week, soon, next month etc.
